How is AnyLB different from Cloudflare's built-in load balancer?
AnyLB is built on the same global network and adds the operational layer most platform teams end up writing themselves: declarative configuration as code, tuning-friendly failover policies, retry budgets, and a query interface over full per-request logs.
Do I need to change my origins?
No. AnyLB speaks plain HTTP/HTTPS to whatever you already run — virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes ingress, or serverless endpoints. Nothing is installed on the origin side.
What counts as billable traffic?
Billable traffic is data transferred from AnyLB to your users. Health checks, log delivery, and error responses generated by AnyLB itself are not billed.
How fast is failover, really?
Active probes run every two seconds from at least three regions. Detection plus reroute completes in under one second for new connections, and in-flight requests are retried against the next healthy origin under your retry budget.
Can I run this in a regulated environment?
Yes. AnyLB supports audit logging, SSO, IP allow lists and data residency controls. Enterprise plans include a signed DPA and a SOC 2 Type II report under NDA.
What happens if I exceed my plan?
Nothing breaks. You get a notification at 80% of your included traffic, and overage is billed at the per-GB rate published in your contract or dashboard.
